The short version
The idea was simple: you’re stuck taking a court-ordered or points-driven course. You deserve accurate state rules, honest pricing, and software that respects your evening.

Verify us — don’t take our word
Six of the seven states where we teach drivers license or approve us by name. Pennsylvania has no approval program; a court there accepts our course with the judge’s permission. Separately, California’s DMV approves our two traffic violator school operator programs, which are for school owners and operators rather than drivers. You can check every claim below at the source.

The numbers, live
The Google and Facebook ratings below are pulled from the review platforms when this page loads. Nobody types them in. When the reviews move, these numbers move. The BBB tile links the profile itself.
How we decide what to build
One rule has survived every redesign: the price you see is the price you pay. No processing fees discovered at checkout. No teaser numbers. And where a state’s rules mean a course can’t help you, our page says so before you spend a dollar. That costs us some sales in Pennsylvania. We think it’s why the ratings look the way they do.
Where we operate
Each state’s page spells out exactly what its course can and can’t do:

Questions people ask about us
Is Highway Traffic School legitimate?
Yes. Six states license or approve our driver courses by name. You can check each one on the state’s own site. FLHSMV, the Florida driver license agency, approves our Florida courses. Texas licenses us under TDLR number CP994. TDLR is the Texas licensing agency. The Arizona Supreme Court lists us as certified school #452. The Michigan Secretary of State approves us as a sponsor of its driver improvement course. Missouri licenses us as OL021. The Idaho Transportation Department lists us as an approved school. Pennsylvania has no approval program for online traffic school, and we say so. California’s DMV lists our two traffic violator school operator programs on its approved-provider list, linked here too. Every link is on this page.
Who owns Highway Traffic School?
The two people who started it in 2014: Tyler Songer and Michael Urueta. HTS has been founder-operated from San Diego since day one — no roll-up, no private-equity portfolio. Support is real people who know your state's rules. Email support@highwaytrafficschool.com, or text or call 1-888-406-1726, Mon–Sat, 7am–7pm PT.
What do Highway Traffic School reviews say?
Read them on the platforms, not on our word. Our Google and Facebook review pages are public. The numbers shown on this page are pulled live from those platforms — not typed in by us. We've also held an A+ Better Business Bureau rating since 2014; the BBB profile is linked on this page.
How long has Highway Traffic School been in business?
Since 2014, over a decade of online courses. Six states approve them today, California’s DMV approves our operator programs, and we also teach in Pennsylvania, which has no approval program.
Which states does Highway Traffic School serve?
Seven for drivers: Florida, Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Idaho. Each state's page spells out exactly what its course can do. Where the honest answer is limited — looking at you, Pennsylvania — we say so plainly. California is different: there we teach the DMV-approved operator programs for traffic violator school owners and operators, not a ticket course.
