Before you pay
Are You Eligible for the Missouri Driver Improvement Program?
Missouri has strict rules about who qualifies. We'd rather tell you now than refund you later — check both lists before you enroll.
You're good to go if…
- You got a Missouri ticket for a moving violation — speeding, careless driving, or a generic 2-point ticket.
- You appeared at your court and got permission to take DIP.
- You pled guilty (or were found guilty) and paid your fine.
- You're inside your 60-day completion window.
- You haven't taken a DIP course in the last 36 months.
This isn't your course if…
- You hold a commercial driver's license — from any state, even if the ticket was in your personal car.
- Your ticket happened on a motorcycle (Missouri requires an approved rider-training course instead).
- You've already used DIP within the past 36 months.
Not sure where you stand? Email support@highwaytrafficschool.com before you pay — we reply 7 days a week and we'll tell you straight. You can also text or call 1-888-406-1726 (Mon–Sat, 7am–7pm PT). Or read every rule yourself: the full DIP eligibility guide and the Missouri points guide.
What happens after you pass
Form 4444: Exactly What Happens After You Pass
In Missouri, you make the final hand-off — not us, and not automatically. Here's the form itself, and who fills in what:
Form 4444 — Record of DIP Completion
- Court says yes You appear, request the Driver Improvement Program, plead guilty, and pay your fine. Your 60-day clock starts here.
- Finish the course 8 hours, 5 units, any device. Start and stop as often as you like; your progress saves automatically.
- Get Form 4444 instantly The moment you pass, we complete the school section, email your signed Form 4444 and unlock a free download in your account.
- Your court clerk signs it Take the form to the court on your ticket; the clerk completes the court section.
- Mail it to the DOR Send the signed form to the Driver License Bureau, PO Box 200, Jefferson City, MO 65105-0200, so it arrives within 15 days of finishing your course.
The two clocks
- Day 0 Guilty plea — court orders DIP Day 0: you plead guilty, pay the fine, and the court orders the Driver Improvement Program. The 60-day clock starts.
- Day 60 Course complete Day 60: the last day to finish the 8-hour course. Finish earlier and the 15-day mailing clock starts earlier.
- Day 75 Form 4444 at the DOR Day 75 at the latest: the signed form must reach the Driver License Bureau within 15 days of your completion date.
- Take the 8-hour course any time in the window — Form 4444 is emailed the moment you pass (day 0–60)
Deadline math: 60 days to finish the course from your guilty plea, then 15 days to get your signed form to the DOR. Start today and you're weeks ahead of both.

Missouri DIP FAQ
Do all Missouri courts accept this course?
We're licensed by the Missouri Safety Center and the Missouri Department of Revenue to offer DIP statewide (License #OL021). Courts grant permission to attend case-by-case, so get your court's OK before you enroll.
How do I get permission to take DIP?
Appear at the court listed on your ticket and request the Driver Improvement Program. Plead guilty or be found guilty, and pay your fine. The court decides case-by-case — there's no automatic right to DIP.
How long does the course take — and do I have to finish in one sitting?
Missouri law sets the course at 8 hours. You don't have to do it at once. Sign in and out as often as you like — we'll save your place.
What's my deadline?
You must complete the course within 60 days of pleading (or being found) guilty. After you finish, your signed Form 4444 needs to reach the DOR within 15 days.
What is Form 4444 — and who sends it to the DOR?
Form 4444 is the completion form used for Missouri DIP. We email it to you instantly and it's free to download. You take it to your court clerk for signature. Then mail it to: Driver License Bureau, PO Box 200, Jefferson City, MO 65105-0200. Missouri routes it through your court. You mail Form 4444 to the DOR yourself; we don't file it.
Does my ticket disappear from my record?
Straight answer: the points stay off, which is what protects your license. The conviction itself can still appear on your Missouri driving record. Whether your insurance rate changes is up to your insurer.
What's on the final exam?
25 multiple-choice questions, open book, 80% to pass. Unlimited retakes at no charge.
What does $19.95 include?
Everything: the 8-hour course, Form 4444, your certificate, and unlimited exam retakes. No processing fees, no hidden charges — the $19.95 on this page is the price at checkout.
How do I pay — and is it secure?
Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Amex, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We don't store your card details.
CDL holders, motorcycle tickets and the once-every-36-months rule have their own page: the Missouri DIP eligibility guide. Point values and thresholds: the Missouri points guide.
You have 60 days.
The course takes 8 hours. Start now and pass the open-book final. We email Form 4444 the moment you pass.
