How this document works. These SMS Terms & Conditions (“SMS Terms”) govern the Highway Traffic School Alerts text-messaging program. They are part of our Terms of Use, and the Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information. The “In short” summary above is for convenience only; the numbered sections below control.
1. Program description
“Highway Traffic School Alerts” is the text-messaging program of Highway Traffic School, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). When you opt in, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from or on behalf of Highway Traffic School at the mobile number you provide. Messages may include: (a) account and course updates — account approval, course deadline reminders, identity-verification prompts, certificate issuance, and confirmation that your completion was reported to your court or DMV; (b) replies to your support requests; and (c) occasional promotional messages — discounts or limited-time offers on our courses, and a request to review your experience after you finish a course. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any course or service.
2. How to opt in
You can join in any of these ways:
- At checkout: check the optional “Text me updates and offers” box in the Payment section of the checkout page. The box is unchecked by default. If you leave it unchecked, we will not text you.
- Text us: text JOIN to (442) 500-1570. We will reply with a confirmation request. You are enrolled only when you reply YES.
- Website chat: ask our chat assistant to text you and enter your mobile number. We will send the same confirmation request; reply YES to finish.
- By phone: if you ask a support representative for texts, they will direct you to text JOIN to (442) 500-1570. We do not enroll a number from a phone call alone.
Whichever method you use, we send one welcome message confirming your enrollment. If you opted in before September 1, 2026 under our earlier terms, you receive account and course texts only unless you accept the current terms by one of the methods above.
3. Message frequency
Message frequency varies with your course activity. Promotional messages are limited to no more than four (4) per month, and we send them only between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in your local time zone.
4. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Contact your carrier for details. We do not charge for text messages.
5. Opting out
Reply STOP to cancel at any time. You will receive one final message confirming your opt-out. You may also opt out by replying with any other reasonable request that clearly expresses your desire to stop receiving messages (such as QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or OPT OUT), by emailing support@highwaytrafficschool.com, or by telling us on a call or in chat. We honor opt-out requests within ten (10) business days. Opting out stops all messages from this program, including account and course texts; it does not cancel your enrollment and does not affect emails required to deliver your course. To stop only offers and review requests and keep your account and course texts, reply STOP OFFERS or email us. Reply START to re-subscribe.
6. Help

7. Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Privacy
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. See our Privacy Policy for more information about how we collect, use, and protect your information.
9. Your number; eligibility
You represent that you are at least 18 years old, that you are the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number you provide — or, for a student under 18, the parent or legal guardian who created the account and is the subscriber for that number — and that you will tell us promptly if you change or deactivate that number. If a number is reassigned, the new subscriber may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
10. Changes
We may modify or end the program at any time, subject to Section 2 of our Terms of Use; we will announce material changes by text, email, or notice on our Website. These SMS Terms are part of our Terms of Use.
