Yes. The California DMV has licensed Highway Traffic School to provide the 8-hour TVS Operator licensing course.

A TVS Operator is a person who directs and manages the operation of a traffic school. This may be a school owner or another person designated by the owner to manage and operate the school's day-to-day activities.

All California DMV-Licensed traffic violator schools are required to have an operator. Each operator must be licensed and take an 8-hour TVS Operator course as an education requirement before being licensed.

In addition, you may download the TVS Operator Application Checklist (Form OL750) for a complete application checklist to ensure you complete all the needed steps.

Step 2: Complete Highway Traffic School's 8-hour course. With our program, you will get an immediate Certificate of Completion after completing the course that can be submitted alongside your original application form!

Step 3: Fill out the Application for Traffic Violator School Operator (Form OL710).

The California TVS Operator Licensing course will take approximately 8 hours to complete. California state law requires that this course be 8 hours in length.

These topics are condensed into ten lessons. The course is presented with text and images, similar to an e-book format. Participation questions will also promote participation and engagement throughout the course.

Yes, there is a required final exam. The exam consists of 50 questions in multiple-choice and true-false format. You must pass the exam with a score of 70% or higher and may take the exam an unlimited number of times to get a passing score. In addition, the exam is an open book, so you can refer back to the course material during the exam.

No. When you pass the final exam and complete your course, you must print your certificate of completion and include it in the original application packet you send to the California DMV.

Once you complete your course, your certificate is available immediately.

You can download, print, or save a copy of your certificate of completion directly from our website for no additional charge, and it is available immediately once you pass the final exam.
